Introduction
EDAC Power officially introduces its new generation of high-performance board mount power supply — the EPM118A Series. This series is developed to satisfy the stringent power demands of commercial, industrial, and critical medical systems, delivering solutions characterized by high power density and superior reliability.
Breakthrough Balance of Size and Power
The core advantage of the EPM118A series lies in achieving a significant boost in power density within its compact structure, marking a major step forward for the board mount power supply segment.
Building upon the foundation of our established 4" x 2" architecture, EDAC Power continues to push the boundaries of power density. Compared to the previous EPM1153 series—which offers 150W convection and 200W forced air—the new EPM118A series represents a significant evolutionary step. While maintaining the same industry-standard footprint, it elevates continuous output capabilities to 180W (convection) and 300W (forced air). Furthermore, through optimized internal layout, we have achieved a 25.4mm low-profile design, providing greater flexibility for space-constrained installations.
Moreover, relying on its robust peak load capacity, the EPM118A can support peak power of up to 450W for 3 seconds, ensuring stable operation during system initialization or momentary high-load demands. The product is compatible with global universal 100-240VAC input and offers a wide output range from 12V to 54V.
Leading Dual Safety Standards and Performance
The EPM118A series establishes stringent design standards for efficiency and system reliability. Average energy efficiency is consistently above 90%, which not only contributes to energy savings but also effectively reduces the internal thermal burden on the system. Concurrently, its no-load power consumption is controlled below 0.3W, fully aligning with current strict international energy efficiency regulations. Thanks to an MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) of over 100,000 hours, this series is equipped to meet the rigorous requirements of critical infrastructure for long-term stable operation.
Safety remains a key focus for the EPM118A series. The power supply incorporates comprehensive built-in protection mechanisms, including short circuit, over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protection, all with auto-recovery functionality, ensuring equipment safety. Notably, the EPM118A series is the first in EDAC's high-power board mount segment to meet both medical and ICT standards with high compliance. The product strictly adheres to the 2 x MOPP isolation standard and is in compliance with the IEC/EN/UL 60601-1 medical safety regulations and relevant EMC certification requirements; simultaneously, it is also in compliance with the UL 62368-1 Information and Communications Technology (ITE/ICT) standard, ensuring its broad applicability in the global market.
Based on its 25.4mm ultra-low profile and lightweight design, the EPM118A series is extremely easy to integrate into space-constrained embedded system equipment.
